Attention to counseling services has become one of the most significant requirements to be offered to a university student, particularly since this process seeks to help students understand themselves, understand their problems and achieve compatibility with the environment in which they live. Therefore, this research aims to identify the counseling needs of university students and their relationship with particular variables. This research was applied to a sample of students of the Faculty of Education - Qasr B Ghashir, University of Tripoli. To achieve this, the researcher built the research tool, which is a questionnaire for the counseling needs of university students, consisting of three themes: Academic Needs, Psychological Needs and Social Needs. The researcher figured out acceptable indicators of reliability and validity and relying on the descriptive approach, the field study was applied to a sample of (50) male and female students randomly selected from all disciplines. This research was based on the following questions:
What are the counseling needs of students of the Faculty of Education - Qasr Ben Ghashir - University of Tripoli?
Are there differences between the level of counseling needs among students of the Faculty of Education - Qasr Bin Ghashir - University of Tripoli due to the variables of gender - academic discipline?
After tabulating and analyzing the study data based on arithmetic means, T-test and analysis of variance to study the differences between the means, using the Statistical Package Science Program (SPSS), the results were as follows: "The most significant counseling needs of Sample Students, in descending order, were: Academic Needs - Psychological Needs - Social Needs. It was also shown that there are no statistically significant differences between the mean degrees of counseling needs among students of the study sample due to the variables of gender and academic discipline.
