Abstract
The current study aimed to identify the role of kindergartens in instilling certain values in children and to develop special programs for kindergartens to promote and develop values in kindergartens in Tripoli, Libya. A descriptive approach was used, and the sample included (90) children from a group of (15) kindergartens within the Greater Tripoli Municipality. Given the homogeneous nature of the community, a random sampling method was used to select (9) kindergartens. The study instrument, an observation card, was applied to these schools. The results revealed that the evaluation of the sample's components regarding the role of kindergartens resulted in their ranking as follows: honesty, obedience, cleanliness, order, courage, and cooperation.
Kindergartens contribute significantly to instilling certain values in children, including honesty, obedience, cleanliness, order, courage, and cooperation. There are values that are closely linked to each other and develop together through acquisition, reinforcement, development, and advancement. The study recommended holding intensive training courses for kindergarten teachers in the fields of teaching methods and child-centered approaches and behavioral guidance. This is to enrich their ideas with simple and engaging educational examples, exercises, and applications. They should also be provided with the necessary tools and equipment for each training session, which they should prepare before undertaking it. It is also necessary to intensify supervision of kindergarten teachers and provide them with the latest developments in their field of specialization. Given the close relationship between the quality of learning and the activity and positivity of the individual learner, the study also recommended reviewing and improving kindergarten teacher preparation programs and employing them in learning through daily activities in the kindergarten.
